The Cherokee Nation was not the only Native American tribe that was forced to travel on the Trail of Tears after Jackson's signing of the Indian Removal Act. Other tribes such as Choctaw, Chickasaw, Seminole and Creek were also removed from their lands and forced to move west of the Mississippi River. White settlers saw value in these lands and were willing to do anything to remove these people from their homes. Each of these Native American tribes have diminished so dramatically that there are hardly any populations left today.
